Royal College of Surgeons:
NATCAN

Scope: Brand Identity | Literature

NATCAN coordinates ten national cancer audits as part of the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme. Its role is complex: to improve outcomes while aligning multiple specialist teams under a single, trusted framework.

The identity needed to do two things at once — signal authority and consistency at a national level, while allowing each audit to retain its own focus and clarity.

We designed a modular identity system comprising a central NATCAN mark and a family of related logotypes for the individual audits.
The system is deliberately restrained and typographically led, prioritising legibility, trust and ease of application across multiple contexts.
The result is a scalable visual language that supports collaboration, reduces fragmentation, and allows the work itself — the data, the insight, the outcomes — to take precedence.
